Principal's Message

Parents and Community Members,

I am so excited to begin my 6th year as the principal of Navarro Intermediate School and my 11th year in Navarro ISD. I have also lived in the Navarro community for the past 12 years. We are excited to continue our campus focus on developing the whole child with our campus Leader in Me Program that will model the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Kids and Adults. We have WATCH D.O.G.S (Dads of Great Students) at NIS and hope that you will get involved with our campus and our students.

Personally, I have been a teacher and an administrator for the past 22 years in the Jacksonville, Grapeland, Amarillo, Comal, and Navarro school districts. Yes - that is from east Texas to north Texas to central Texas. My husband Lane, is the athletics supervisor for the City of San Marcos and volunteers his time to coach various little league and community sports organizations. We have two boys, Austin who is a junior at Angelo State University and Aden who is an 11th grader at Navarro High School.

As educators and leaders, we have to ensure that ALL students receive an education where excellence is the standard. You will find that each and every staff member on our campus believes this and we will work hard on academics and also work hard to build leaders in our students. At NIS, we implement Steven Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective Kids with our students. This is a great way to build leaders on our campus, in our community, and to ultimately build productive citizens. Our campus motto this year is to:

I believe in the schools and the community of Navarro and I know you will see me at many events. Please feel free to stop by and visit or call 830-372-1943 anytime. Here is to a great 2019-2020 school year!

Go Panthers!
