Navarro N

Dear Navarro ISD Families,

Governor Abbott announced on Friday, April 17, that all of the public and private schools, colleges and universities in the State of Texas are to remain closed for the remainder of the school year.

Navarro ISD teachers and staff are working very hard to provide continuing instruction to all of our students, and that will continue until the last scheduled day of class on May 28. We know that many parents are struggling to manage child care and schooling at home, along with their own work and/or economic challenges. Most families have established a routine of time and place for school work, a time and place for exercise and recreation and family. It is important to maintain routines that are comforting to children when the old routines are disrupted. Although it adds to the workload and stress of the adults in the household, please monitor your child’s work, and be in touch with teachers if you have concerns. Our teachers stand ready to help. We do not want to see anyone fall behind; especially we do not want to see High School students fail to earn credits.

The Central Office continues to be open Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 2 PM. The phone number is (830) 372-1930. The Technology Department stands ready to help if you have device or internet issues. Those phone numbers are on the District website front and center at Distance Learning Tips.

Wishing all NISD students and families a healthy and happy spring.

Dee Carter NISD Superintendent
